On Main presents a window installation and exhibition of new work by artist Brian Howell. A large scale mural titled ‘6200 block 92 St.” will be on view 24/7 in the windows at ON MAIN. The 160” X 80” photograph depicts a debris field – the view of an indoor pool is filled with old tires, lumber and garbage. The walls have been deconstructed down to pink insulation , wood framing and punched through to the outside. From a ongoing series documenting abandoned houses in Surrey BC.

Many of the once pristine homes were built as recently as the 1970’s. “ It’s like the owners packed up in hurry leaving behind beds, furniture, appliances, the kids toys and dad’s electronics”. This is the world of disposable incomes, the detritus of consumerism.

Additional Surrey Houses will be on exhibit inside the gallery. Open by appointment.
